Hypnosis = Spell Casting? I think not!

I've been keeping up with the story of Principal Kenney in Florida who was doing hypnosis on students and is now in question due to a student committing suicide. For those of you haven't read the recent news on this, you can read a brief overview of the story here.

George Kenney did his hypnosis training at Omni Hypnosis Center in FL. The same place where I hold certification. He had parents permission to do motivational hypnosis on the students at the school. But was told to stop doing private sessions at school by a couple of school board members. As far as I have read, he was never brought before the school board and told to officially stop the hypnosis sessions.

Two suicides and one car accident victim are being linked to Kenney. Why? Because he "cast spells" according to one news article I read today on AOL. This is ludicrous. Casting spells? Hypnosis does not equal witchcraft people. Kenney did hypnosis to help students improve test scores, excel at sports, release their stress. Not force them to commit suicide or get in a car accident.

The students at the school loved Kenney, as did their parents. The community was very supportive of Kenney when allegations that he was linked to one boy's suicide emerged.

I don't know Kenney personally, but I feel like he's become a scapegoat in all of this. I feel deeply sad for the parents of the students who are gone, and I'm sure the whole school and community are upset. Why does the media need to make things worse by going after someone who has been there for those kids and doing what he could to help them be happier and more successful?

The whole thing is tragic. I wish the media would stop spreading more lies about spell casting and how hypnosis can control people. As a Hypnotist myself, I cannot force anyone to do what they don't want to do while in hypnosis. All hypnosis is self hypnosis, meaning that you are always in control. The media needs to learn more and do more research on what they are reporting on instead of sticking to old myths and misconceptions.

Can Hypnosis Hurt Me?

When it comes to hypnosis, there are, unfortunately, many myths and misconceptions. Most of these have come from either hypnosis portrayed in movies and TV, and entertainment hypnosis. One myth that I would like to debunk today is the idea that hypnosis can hurt you.

All hypnosis is SELF hypnosis. That means you are the one deciding, for yourself, what suggestions you take into your mind and what suggestions you ignore. You are the one choosing to go into the hypnotic state of mind and you are ALWAYS in control. If someone were to suggest something against your moral or ethical beliefs, you would simply ignore it.

There have been no documented cases of hypnosis hurting anyone. The American Psychiatric Association approves of hypnosis.

When someone suggests that hypnosis can hurt someone, it shows that they are not fully aware of what hypnosis truly is and how it works. More and more people are learning about the BENEFITS of hypnosis and how it can help with a wide variety of issues. From smoking cessation, to weight release, to healing the past, to fertility and childbirth, hypnosis is a tool that can help you achieve the goals you desire.

Increase your Financial Abundance with the New Moon

Have you ever heard of Abundance Checks before? I've known about them for quite some time, ever since I saw the movie "The Secret". Abundance checks are correlated with the New Moon, which happens to be tomorrow (Feb 2nd). Abundance checks work with the Law of Attraction to bring financial abundance your way. I can say from first hand experience that this ritual really does work!

How to Write an Abundance Check:
Abundance check writing is easy. Within 24 hours of a New Moon, pull out your check book and do the following...
1. Write your name in the "Pay To" section of the check.
2. In the section where you write the dollar amount, right "Paid in Full"
3. Write "Paid in Full" underneath where you write out the dollar amount.
4. Sign the check "Law of Abundance" or "Law of Attraction"
5. DO NOT date the check.
6. Put the check somewhere safe and forget about it. (I use to put them under my mouse pad by my computer where I wouldn't see them.

That's it! All you do after that is wait for the good things to happen! Do this with every New Moon.

Hypnosis Sessions by Phone/Skype: Special Offer!

Occasionally I am asked if Hypnosis sessions by phone or Skype are as effective as in-person sessions. My answer is "YES!". Hypnosis sessions over the phone or by video conference (Skype is my preferred method since it is a free program for everyone) are great if you are unable to meet with a Hypnotist in person due to distance or scheduling. The benefit to doing a distance hypnosis session, is that you can remain in the comfort of your own home for the session. Just find a comfortable place where you can be free of distractions and settle in for your session.

What do you need for a phone session? For a phone session, you will need a headset, speakerphone, or bluetooth so that you won't have to hold the phone to your head during the session.

What do you need for a Skype session? For a Skype session, you will need a microphone for your computer, and a headset is helpful too. If you have a video camera, that allows me to be able to see you during the session. I have a video camera on my computer, so my clients are able to see me during the session (when they have their eyes open of course). You will also need the Skype program on your computer.

Distance Hypnosis sessions range from an hour to an hour and a half.

Live outside of Bloomington, IN and interested in doing a distance session? Experience it for yourself for only $50 if you schedule your appointment before February 1st! Payment is done through Paypal, so you will want to be sure you have an account (another free program!).

Imagine the Possibilities!

For more information on Distance Hypnosis sessions, please visit Imagine: Health & Wellness or contact me at kat@imaginehealthandwellness.com.

NOTE: The session can be set for a later date, just as long as payment and scheduling is complete by February 1, 2011.
