It's hard to believe that September is here once again. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous, and I have been spending some time recently thinking about the Fall. When it starts getting cooler outside, it makes me want to knit some warm things to wear, and it also makes me think about what I want to do for myself and others.
I have been mostly thinking about weight loss lately. I need to lose about 8 lbs., and I talk to so many people who want to lose more than that.
It makes you wonder, why do we have such a weight issue here in the US? Well, I'm sure you could come up with at least 5 reasons right now off the top of your head.
We are so consumed here in America to "LOSE WEIGHT". We are in a constant battle with ourselves and those extra pounds. You can't really love yourself if you are constantly in battle.
When approaching the idea of losing weight, we even need to reconsider how we think of the issue. We do not want to "lose" weight, because that implies that we will find it once again. We want to think in terms of "releasing" the excess weight. We want it to leave and never come back, right? RIGHT!
So first step, reframing how we think, so that we can put our thoughts into action. aka HYPNOSIS!
We choose to release the excess weight from our bodies and make the conscious decision to be good to ourselves.
The next step is to love ourself first. If you can't truly say "I love myself," then what hope do you have for taking care of yourself and releasing that excess weight?? Think about it. If you eat to punish yourself, or eat due to emotional reasons, you are not helping yourself at all.
You have to accept yourself right now, how you are mind, body, and spirit. If you approach weight release with that mindset, you will succeed.
Look at yourself in a mirror, and write down on a piece of paper what you see. Take a few minutes doing this and then, go through your list.
How many negative statements are on that sheet of paper? How many positive statements? How do you feel about yourself right now?
If you wrote down mostly negative statements about yourself, then you need to spend some time writing a list of positive things about yourself. What DO you like about yourself? What do you LOVE about yourself?
If you have a difficult time with this exercise, you may want to consider doing some hypnosis work to get to the heart of why you do not love yourself. If you do well with this exercise, then GREAT! You are on your way to releasing the excess weight!
Stay tuned for Part II! :)
